Feeling French Vol. 1
by Jamie Beck

Bonjour Friends!

It's a New Year!

Eloise turned 2 this past January! We had a very small party for her at La Cusine Provencale with our closest friends in Saint Rémy de Provence with a beautiful meal created by local chef Séverine Sagnet. Eloise's traditional dried fruit birthday cake covered in Provencal lavender was baked by Séverine who serenaded the birthday girl with a live performance of La Vie en Rose!

Eloise and I wore matching sparkling attire by French brand Bonjour. Here is the link to Eloise's skirt, my skirt, and my top

We drank Domaine Milan's 2019 Pinot Noir, wine from the year of Eloise's birth grown, harvested, barrelled, and bottled just down the road from where we had her party!

Here is what is in store for 2021

Every day we await news for if we will have a 3rd lockdown or not in France. If we have an official lockdown I will begin #isolationcreation part 3! For now, we wait and continue to refresh France24, a French news site for English speakers.

I finally finished the book proposal after three years of working on it and my literary agents at The Gernert Company have been accompanying me to publisher meetings via zoom the past few weeks. I will have an announcement to share with you all soon!

Last week, Luxe Provence and I launched a new version of our classic apron skirt in silk cotton voile in noir with pockets! The fabric is super light and fluffy and can easily be dressed up or down. I'm looking forward to wearing it this spring with a bodysuit and ballet flats! Très chic!

If you missed out on the Luxe Provence chemise, they are now restocked for the new year in Noir and Feather! All Luxe Provence garments are handmade in her atelier in Provence by hand in small batches using ethical and eco-friendly fabrics.

I am working on a new release with Monica Rich Kosann for Mother’s Day!

Speaking of Mother’s Day, I’m creating a limited edition of 10 signed, numbered, dated, prints I am having framed by a female artisan framer in Aix-en-Provence with a French linen border followed by a gold floral motif frame using museum quality glass. I just dropped them off last week so I don’t have any photographs yet of the final look but will share as soon as they are ready. We’ve already sold a few through pre-orders, I will officially launch them once the framing is complete with plenty of time to ship for Mother’s Day gifting. Here is the pre-order link if you know for sure you want one.

Also coming up for 2021, stationary!!!

These will be all made at a boutique letterpress printer in Aix-en-Provence. Right now, I’m currently making the selection of 10 photographs for the first set. We will be using warm-toned, natural, heavyweight matte paper with gold embossing and coordinating envelopes which will all come in a luxury embossed folder so you can easily store them protected or throw them in a bag to take with you anywhere you might feel the need to sit down and write a letter or send a card. I can't wait to show you! We hope to have these ready by spring!

And! We now have both an EU distributor and a US distributor to help us cut down on shipping and tax costs for the customer of our stationery products and future calendars!

The rose mask collaboration with Brooklyn based designer Christine Alcalay sold out within one hour! Thanks to this community we were able to raise thousands of dollars for Live Arts Global, a foundation supporting out-of-work performers whose livelihoods have been shuttered by the pandemic, and Christine donated to No Kid Hungry, an organization aiming to end child hunger in America. Thank you all for the support, these donations were made on behalf of this community.

The masks were such a hit, and really I get such a thrill when you post wearing them out and about around the world, we are going to create a new set! Put to a vote, it was a landslide for “Day 25” to be the next version! Here is a sneak-peek of the designer working on the new pattern repeat to be printed in New York on silk!

There is a new gallery space opening up underground in the "old city" my village Apt-en-Luberon is built on top of. They have generously offered me an exhibition this May! Last week Kevin and I went to measure the walls in order to begin to organize a selection of Masterworks from #IsolationCreationPartDeux!

I have a few other exciting new products that have been years in the works that will finally be released this spring I can't wait to share! But for now, it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!

Merci mes amis, thank you my friends!

Jamie
